Passive Income Update – Jul 2015

Welcome to my monthly passive income update for July 2015. This is part of the scorecard series where I track my dividends and other sources of passive income. I also include changes and updates related to my portfolio during the month.

Passive Income  Update

Passive income for the month of July 2015 was C$711.62 — an all time high!  The passive income comprised of US$342.04 and C$266.97 (exchange rate is US$1 = C$1.30).

With this, my passive income YTD is $4,218.59, which achieves 76.7% of my annual goal of earning $5,500 in passive income. I am extremely happy with this progress and the milestone of crossing $4K mark.

Portfolio Update

Dividend Increases

July saw dividend increase announcement from the following in my current holdings.

• Kinder Morgan Inc (KMI) raised its dividend by 2.08%
• Omega Healthcare Investors Inc (OHI) raised its dividend by 1.85%

Added Positions

July was a really busy month in my portfolio with more than usualy amount of purchases. We initiated/added to the following stocks

• Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp (AQN.TO)
• Inter Pipeline Ltd (IPL.TO)
• Qualcomm Inc (QCOM)
• Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD.TO)

In addition, we continued adding to my wife’s portfolio’s positions in the following ETFs. Details of our combined portfolio strategy can be found here.

• Vanguard FTSE All World Ex-Canada Index ETF (VXC.TO)
